Student Absence Notification
If your child is going to be absent and unable to attend school, please advise the school via one of the following:
To ensure the absence is recorded correctly, when contacting the absentee line or emailing the office, please provide:
- your child’s name
- your child’s class
- the *reason for your child’s absence *absence notifications provided without a reason will be recorded as an 'unexplained' absence
- the commencement & end date of the absence.
*If your child does not return to school by the end date provided by you, please contact the school to update the absence details.*
(3+ days absences will be required in writing).
ABSENCE NOTIFICATION OF 10 + CONSECUTIVE SCHOOL DAYS
Every parent or carer of a child of compulsory school age has a legal obligation to ensure their child is attending school.
Parents and carers can apply for an exemption from this obligation when their child cannot attend school for a period of more than 10 consecutive school days.
Situations where an application for an exemption may be made include:
- Illness
- Family Reasons
- Cultural or religious reasons
