2017 Parent Information Sessions

Developing positive partnerships and two way communication between school and home are significant factors that support students achieving to their potential. As a school we cannot overestimate the critical role  parents play in successful learning : parents contribute much to their child's development and are among the  most important influences on the way in which each child approaches learning.
To support developing strong partnerships, Highland Reserve State School will be holding Parent Information Sessions for each class during Week 3.

The information session will allow parents and carers, as a group, to meet with their child's classroom teacher. Teachers will share information on year level learning, routines, school expectations and upcoming events specific to your child.

The schedule for the program is as follows:

Monday February 6 - 3:15pm : Year 5
Monday February 6 - 3:45pm : Year 1 and Year 6
Monday February 6 - 4:15pm : Prep and Year 3

Tuesday February 7 - 3:15pm : Year 2
Tuesday February 7 - 3:45pm : Year 4

All sessions will last approximately 30 minutes and will be held in your child's classroom. Teachers will also email a copy of the PowerPoint presentation to all parents the day after the event especially for the benefit of those parents who could not attend the session.

We understand that some parents will need to bring their children with them to the information sessions. All children must remain under the supervision of their parent. Students will not be permitted to play outside or on playground equipment to eliminate distractions within sessions and to maintain safety for all.

Please note, individual parent interviews will not be held at this session. Parents are encouraged to arrange individual parent-teacher meetings with teachers on a needs basis throughout the school year. There will also be individual parent-teacher interviews held for all students from Prep to Year 6 prior to the end of Term 1.

We encourage all parents to avail themselves of this opportunity and encourage ongoing and regular communication between school and home.
